composites are some of the most fun work i get. i love taking so many disparate elements and blending them together to make something truly unique and original. i’ve done work with just a couple of plates to fix a boring sky, to dozens of different elements to make something totally unlike the first capture.
this project posed many challenges. some of the riders couldn’t be seen, so we had to photograph this inside a hotel under secrecy. two of the riders where not present for the shoot, so they were added later from stock photos and other bodies. the background was captured in several plates elsewhere, and the grass came from a football field near my house. the biggest problem was that this had to be done in a few hours and involved some discussion at 2am to make sure things were good. the client loved the poster and i had another war story to pass on to my grandkids.
